BambooLite is a small family run online business specializing in bamboo fabric products. Our product range includes Cloth Diapers, Diapering Essentials, Nursing Essentials and Organic Bamboo Fabric.
BambooLite was conceived in 2009. Our journey started with our skin sensitive daughter having frequent nappy rash using various kind of nappies/diapers. We have tried disposable diapers, traditional cloth diapers(“kain lampin”) as well as modern cloth diapers with synthetic materials. Switching to modern cloth diapers using organic fabric relieved the sufferings and enabled our daughter to enjoy every single moment to the fullest in her critical development stage.
We started researching two topics, namely bamboo and raw silk in depth. These two materials have anti-bacterial factors preventing nappy rash. What’s more is that raw silk promotes rash healing. We are determined to make this wonderful solution affordable to more people especially those with sensitive skin babies. Besides, it is an environmentally friendly solution.
The mother started making her own design cloth diaper using bamboo fabric to fit her precious daughter nicely. With guidance and encouragement from other cloth diapering mommies, the mother realized that her diaper suits many other babies especially those with sensitive skin. They love it and find her diaper is of much help. They also like the idea of being environmentally friendly. This slowly turned into an idea to make available her design for retail. And BambooLite was setup to realize this. Today BambooLite has become the supplier for our own designed cloth diapering products. The mother designed all the products currently available and continued to do so with more new products.
BambooLite also started a pioneer project to work with Stay-Alone-GrandMa (SAGM) making some of our products. We realized that there are many grandmothers who live alone in villages or small towns when their children have to work in other states due to limited opportunities in their hometowns and their grandchildren will get better educational development in larger towns or cities. This is one of the challenges in the progress of a society. We initiated this project to assist these SAGMs financially besides creating meaningful activities for them to contribute to our society and the environment. This is a non-profit project.
