Important notes when you start using BambooLite products

Cautions!

DO NOT SOAK the diaper in detergent. It may cause detergent buildup and PUL delamination. DO NOT BLEACH as they are easily damaged by bleaching. DO NOT USE FABRIC SOFTENER as they tend to block the micro-gaps in the fibers leading to reduced absorbency. Fabric softener is also food for fungi. Mold and mildew simply love fabric softener! DO NOT USE OIL BASED DETERGENT/SOAP as the oils in them which will leave residue behind. AVOID CONTACT WITH RASH CREAM that leave residue on these fibers. If rash cream is applied to your baby, place a sheet of liner to prevent direct contact with diaper inner. DO NOT LEAVE THE USED DIAPER UNRINSED FOR > 24 HOURS to avoid ammonia issue. Ammonia from urine will damage your natural fabric and cause bad diaper rash on baby.  DO NOT KEEP WET DIAPER FOR > 48 HOURS to avoid mold/mildew issue. AVOID EXCESSIVE SUN DRYING to preserve the PUL, elastic and avoid color fading of diapers. ONLY WASH ON COLD/WARM (40degC) AND TUMBLE DRY LOW OR LINE DRY to avoid any shedding of bamboo fabric. Prewash Instructions (Diaper/Insert/Booster/Wipe/Nursing Pad)

BambooLite diaper may not reach its full absorbency initially. You will need to prewash the item to remove natural oils and waxes that will inhibit absorption to prevent messy leak. For best results, please follow the appropriate instructions below:

Diaper Shell

• Wash the diaper shell as usual (follow the washing instructions) for at least 1 time to remove manufacturing residue. Do not soak or boil the diaper shell. Soaking and boiling will damage the waterproof layer. Sometimes it may take up to 3 times to fully remove the residue depending on the effectiveness of detergent/washer/method and etc.

Insert/Soaker/Booster/Wipe/Nursing Pad

Method 1:

• Soak Insert/Soaker/Booster/Wipe/Nursing Pad in hot water(not > 60degC) with 1 tsp of dishwashing liquid for at least 4 hours. Do not boil the insert/soaker. Boiling will cause plastic snap to melt and weaken natural fabric.
• Pour off excess water and dump the item into your washer. Wash as usual (follow the washing instructions). You will need to wash and dry the item at least 3 times before use.

Method 2:

• Wash and dry Insert/Soaker/Booster/Wipe/Nursing Pad as usual (follow the washing instructions) for at least 6 wash and dry cycles before it reaches full absorbency. You may start using the item after first wash, but you have to change the item more often initially to prevent leak until the item reaches its full absorbency. Sometimes it may take up to 10 times to reach it's maximum absorbency depending on the effectiveness of detergent/washer/method and etc.

**Note: You may use method 1 or 2. But if you find that method 2 is less effective, then you may want to try method 1.
